AUTHOR'S GUIDE for UKROBRAZ'2002
Camera-Ready Paper
Your paper will consist of four pages, written in A4-size white paper and
must conform to the specifications below. Put the following settings in the page
setup of your word processor:
- page size - A4 - 21cm (width) x 29.7cm (height) Use a laser printer to produce two (2) original black printings of your
paper. Use as base fonts the Times New Roman of 10pt size. Lettering smaller
than 9pt size is NOT allowed throughout the paper.
Text should appear in two (2) columns but illustrations may span both
columns. Put the following settings in the column setup of your word processor:
- number of columns - 2 You should print on one side of the paper only. Please keep in mind that the
manuscript you prepare will be photographed and printed as it is received.
Preparation of manuscripts. The paper must be printed exactly how it is to
appear in the Proceedings in two columns with single line-spacing.
Only on the first page, the distance from the top edge of the paper to the
top of the first line of type (the title) should be 3.0cm. On the second and
subsequent pages, the distance from the top edge of the paper to the top of the
first line of typ should be 2.54cm, as it is mentioned above.
The text should be justified full in each column.
Title, authors, affiliations and addresses. The title of the paper should be
centered across the top of the first page and should be written in 17pt bold
fonts. Author(s) should be written bellow the title in 12pt size italic fonts.
Affiliation(s), addresses, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers, should be
written bellow the author(s) in 10pt size fonts. These items should be centered
across both columns, too.
Abstract and main chapters. The abstract should appear at the top of the
left-hand column in the first page about 1.2cm below the title area and it must
not be more than 8cm in length. Leave some 1.2cm space between the end of the
abstract and the beginning of the main text.
Begin the main text with the INTRODUCTION and end it with the CONCLUSION.
Finally, remember that REFERENCES should come last of all.
Headings. Major headings are to be numbered and in 14pt bold font and in
capitals without underline. They should be centered.
Subheadings. Subheadings should be numbered and written in 12pt bold font.
They should start on the left-hand margin of the column.
Sub-subheadings. Sub-subheadings should be numbered and written in 10pt bold
font. They should start on the left-hand margin of the column.
Illustrations. All halftone illustrations (pictures) should be clear black on
white prints. Do not supply photocopies. Make captions and number all
illustrations and graphs. These must be in place in the camera-ready paper.
Page numbers. Number your manuscript lightly with pencil on the bottom of the
back-side of each page. Do not type page numbers. Your manuscript will be
re-paginated.
Equation numbers. When numbering equations, enclose numbers in parentheses
and justified to the right-hand margin of the column.
Symbols and acronyms. Use only IEEE standard symbols and unit abbreviation.
Define any acronyms the first time they appear.
References. List and number all references at the end of the paper. When
citing references in the text, type the corresponding number in square brackets
as shown at the end of this sentence [1]. Put the title of the reference between
" " and/or write it with italic fonts.
